This draft report will be brought to our members at the AGM on 9 July.

CIPFA’s 2023 annual report reflects a positive year for the Institute and builds on our work in sustainability reporting. We use the UN Sustainable Development Goals as the framework for our report, setting out our performance and achievements in the areas of Quality Education and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

As we look back on 2023, we are proud of the work we have done to support members and students, particularly the announcement of the new route to dual membership of both CIPFA and ICAEW. We have continued to speak on issues such as financial resilience and social care, and partnered with organisations in the UK and around the world on new research and training programmes.

The 2023 annual report outlines our purpose, strategy and values as an organisation, and gives an overview of CIPFA’s achievements and governance arrangements.

Further highlights in the 2023 report include:

  • benchmarking outcomes for our Professional Accountancy Qualification
  • regional and international events and conferences
  • a new project with The Health Foundation exploring preventative investment
  • the launch of our Corruption Prevention Programme
  • updates on equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

The 2023 annual report was amended on 19 June: the second paragraph on page 46 should read “The overall result for 2023 was a positive contribution of £0.070m compared to £1.142m in 2022.”, rather than “The overall result for 2022” and “£0.055m”.
