About this event
City Deal and Levelling UP – Implications for public services in Northern Ireland
The City and Growth Deals initiative is a £1.3 billion package of capital investment by the NI Executive and the UK Government over the next 10-15 years. It represents a new way of working between central and local government and regional partners and secures a bespoke package of investment from central government and partners of more than £1.3B to support economic growth that aims to provide more and better jobs and create a positive impact on the lives of our citizens in Northern Ireland.
In addition, the UK government has so far allocated around £342 million to projects in Northern Ireland through investment programmes, including the Levelling Up Fund and Community Ownership Fund.
In this session, senior public representatives from central government and local government will provide a critical analysis of the capital investment and outline the implications for Northern Ireland’s public services.
